First Presbyterian Church, East Aurora NY
The mid to late 20th century saw the extensive use of grill cloth to cover organ chamber openings. The limited lifespan of this material and its penchant for collecting dust has led to many churches wishing to replace it but uncertain as to the options available. Here, torn and brittle grill cloth was replaced with carved paneling. This durable solution allows for ample airflow to the organ chambers and is customizable to match design elements in the sanctuary. Heritage recommends consultation with an architect or liturgical designer for projects of this nature.
